Where do you go when you don’t know what to do? When there are no funds to buy food or pay the rent? When you are the victim of a violent crime and have to leave your home and job? When you need to apply for services online and have no knowledge of computers? When your children are sleeping in the car? When you are 18, fresh out of foster care and on your own?
The Women’s Resource Center of Tampa is a place where people come to find respect, hope and a personal coach that will help them by providing emergency assistance and in connecting them with available resources.

We change lives and restore hope by working one on one with individuals and families that are experiencing difficulties to identify and address their needs for emergency food, clothes, housing, employment, training and access to available resources. Once the family is stable, the Women’s Resource Center of Tampa continues to partner with families as a supporting coach as they develop and achieve their long term goals for stability.

The Women’s Resource Center of Tampa accepts donated vehicles in good condition to provide to individuals who are in need of transportation. Emergency funds may also be provided for bus passes, gas, or assistance in obtaining a drivers license or state issued identification card.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) are disability income benefits administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) that may also provide either Medicaid and/or Medicare health insurance to individuals who are eligible.
It can be difficult to navigate the application process. SOAR is an assistance initiative that assists individuals who are homeless and disabled to complete applications for benefits. The Women’s Resource Center of Tampa has staff training to assist with SOAR applications.
